I am pleased to present my latest AI art project called ‘AI Surreal Landscape Vistas‘. This collect is an attempt at a surreal, colourful, filtered set of landscapes. They all have a similar feel and many have a similar colouring, yet they are all unique and individual. Their surreal and ethereal impression takes them away from reality, even though you can still easily comprehend what you are looking at.
The colours make the images feel slightly vintage, but also challenge your mind to process what you’re looking at and try to make sense of the overall vista. This also slightly disturbs the viewer, making the brain think a little deeper about what it sees and how it interprets that. Using a very familiar foundation in the landscapes, including trees and mountains, provides visual references to reality, but interwoven into that are extraordinary and unusual colours and shapes.
My goal is simply to stimulate the brain and perhaps generate an emotion in a similar way that you experience when you look out over a sunset countryside vista, or look up at an imposing mountain. It seems pre-programmed into most of us to be able to enjoy bright, positive spaces whether countryside, seascapes or mountain ranges. With these AI images, there is a shift with the textures, bright, yet dirty colours in places and shapes at odds with the surroundings, which adds a new dimension and perhaps makes the viewer dwell a little longer in the emotion of wondering and the scene.
